Roots: an audio portrait

Michael Mele is a lifelong resident of Toronto as well as my good friend and roommate. To him, home is his neighbourhood in Toronto, the Beaches. He is connected to this area by both his family home there as well as the deep connections and friendships he has forged there. As someone who has never lived in an area long enough to really put down roots, I find his perspective on home to be both fascinating and very different from my own. As such, when the time came to conduct my audio portrait, Michael was the obvious choice.
